Comments: Okay, my beef with them is on 2 levels: their service sucks, and their sales is worse. I took my 850R in for routine service, and they somehow caught that the rear overload cushion had slipped from it's mount (a largely pointless repair, but expensive), but somehow, incredibly, even though I asked them to make a careful check of the engine (it had been shifting funny), they missed the fact that the transmission had come off it's mountings and was resting on the frame. How? I have no idea. When I took the car elsewhere, the problem was spotted right away, and the mechanic even took me under the lift to point it out. Wasn't exactly easy to miss. As to their sales department, I went in thinking of trading the car in for something newer (better safety), and their sales staff hardly let me near the new cars. I've never before seen a sales staff chase off an interested potential buyer. Now, rather than deal with them, I just take the car down to LA when I need it service!
[edit: I've worked with them since (emergency repair), and it's been a uniformly miserable experience. I take my business elsewhere and advise other local Volvo owners to do likewise.]
[2nd edit: Their parts department is pretty cool
