Comments: Highly recommended. Out of the seven different Volvo dealers I have dealth with, this is the ONLY dealer I would do business with by choice. Their service department has earned an A+ rating with me, and their prices on new Volvos are quite reasonable. They tend to overprice their used cars, so I guess nobody's perfect.

Be very careful when having a car diagnosed at
Merrimack Street Volvo in Manchester NH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They told me I had a faulty oil pan gasket which was sucking air and making my valves tap.
The engine would have to be lifted to change it. They also told me that I had a bad oil leak comming from my under my intake manifold. (two separate problems) Total cost for repairs would be $800.00 plus. I have it all in writing!
I took my S80 to Marks European Cars in Methuen MA. For a secound oppinion.
Mark fixed my problems for under $100.00 Turns out I had a bad oil filter gasket which was causing the oil leak and at the same time sucking air making my valves tap.
Oil Change is all I needed!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Merrimack Volvo like most dealers are very nice to deal with but they have perfected the art of
deception to unknown customers that think they are getting the best from a dealer. The only people that should go to dealers are peole with their cars still under warrantee, other than that, your setting yourselfs up for a royal ripping off!!

My experience with with Merrmack Street was that they inspected my car before i bought it (i paid them, seller took it there). Had them do a compression check. Bought car with 123k, at 182k now, their inspection was right on. No major problems found by their inspection. No major problems to date. Anything that fails now is just due to age, not previous owner neglect.
They could have easily recommended a few small extra repairs etc, but they did not, honest guys.

I purchased my second used V70 from Merrimack St. Volvo a year ago. They thouroughly went through and repaired any items that were wrong with the vehicle. After the sale they stood behind it during their warranty and after. I had a problem a few weeks after the 90 warranty ran out and they still took care of it. The sales team and service department was a pleasure to deal with.

I bought three cars from Merrimack, two of which I'm still driving, and I can't say enough about how well I was treated by the sales staff and the service department. I've since moved to Pennsylvania and I dread going to the local dealer for service. I'm thinking it might be easier to find good service with a Toyota.

I have had my '93 850 since it was new. It has been serviced in the 5 states I have lived in since purchase. Merrimack St. is simply the best dealership repair shop I have ever had contact with. They know their business, don't lie to you, and understand if you pass on a repair to an old car because its too expensive. "kevin" the service manager is first rate!
