Comments: The sales people are really your typical car salesman: Just want to sell you a car without answering questions and very uptight. However, I have had good luck with the service department. They might not wash/vacuum your car, but if you present a list of problems/issues with your car, they will take car of everything. Just make sure you know what you're talking about and they won't give you any trouble. If you do not like their service, complain. Customer service is one of their foundations as a dealer, and show that off.

Comments: Sleazy!!! The ultimate in high pressure sales. I was embarassed by the sexism displayed by sales men toward my wife as they attempted to bully us into buying a car that day. I will never buy a car from a place like this. The sales man himself may not have been entirely to blame as the sales manager was far more abrasive and more interested in making the sale than pleasing the customer.

I went there to look at a low priced 99 S80 and when I saw the awful condition it was in, the sales person told me "that was just the car we use to get people in then we sell them a better one".
That is called bate and switch! Very illegal, but they didn't seem to care....
I would rate them very very sleezy!

I totally agree with the bad reviews here. I wouldn't go anywhere near 128 Volvo!

First post ... first Volvo!

Purchased a clean used 2000 S80 from the company whom I work with.
It was maintained regulary since new by a local Volvo dealership, 128 Volvo in Wakefield, Ma.

It just had a 60k mile dealership check performed in January this year to a cost of $1,200.00
Brake job & tune-up were the only extra work done on the vehicle.
There was also a front-end clicking noise that was also present that was looked into....Diagonosed to be struts, mounts & stabilizer bar links.... Quote was for an additional $1k which was refused at the time.

Okay, 6-months later I decided to really take a good look at the car purchased ..... The serpetine belt looks like the original issue ... full of stress-cracks & dried out.
While pulling the right wheel to gain access to it & found the lug nuts were all rust frozen ... Upon finally removing the lug nuts the rim was also nicely bonded to the spindle hub ... again from rust.
Looks like it hadn't been removed in years.
Checking the brake pads they look to be worn approx. 70% ... All this from 6-months of use (2.5k miles!).
Turns out the front-end clicking noise was from a worn spring mount .... $30.00 part.
Struts & mounts were fine .......

Conclusion .....Don't bring your car to 128 Volvo in Wakefield, Ma. to get serviced.

128 Volvo is also 128 Saab, and I had a Saab that was serviced and bought there. The service people were poor to terrible, and the sales tactics were just what you would expect of the worst of the used car salesmen type, and the top people there like it that way. Don't go here if you can avoid it.
Sleazy is exactly the adjective.
