Comments: VERY VERY poor service, i wholly regret ever going there, they did a break job, brakes make weird noises, now they say i needed rotors after i asked them twice if i really diddnt need them, they replaced a serpentine belt, my power sterring pump is going and i MENTIONED this to them that it was noisy and they did nothing but top it off, its probably got a bearing that is going out. lot of good that was, also they cracked the headlight lens on one of my headlights. They wouldnt even align them for free after I PAID for a new lens, charged me 30 bucks for him to adjust the height on a garage door ( i saw them do it) i had been expecting a laser alignment system, when i protested they did nothing. Some of the poorest most incompitent service that i have had done. VCNA is getting a letter on this one. These people do a disservice to the volvo name.

I'd heard similar stories about poor service from European Motorcars.. a MB, BMW and Range Rover dealer who previously had the Volvo and Jaguar lines as well. Thankfully, Ford/Volvo/Jaguar "heard" the complaints and now the local dealer is Betts Automotive...across the street and a bit east of European Motorcars. They also have the Cadilac, Lexus and Hummer lines.

My '05 Volvo V50 T5 AWD was ordered OSD from Betts and I received excellent sales support from them. Just had the car in for it's 7,500 mile checkup and honestly felt they cared about my car/experience. Time will tell once she's out of warranty, but so far, I'm happy with Bett's service.

Another local Des Moines area shop I frequented years ago when we had our '80 245DL was an independant; East University Imports....haven't used them recently but was very satisfied in the early 80's as an alternative to European Motorcars (then known as Dave Ostrem Motorcars).
