Comments: Sales doesn't know products too well, but all seem to be Volvo fans. Service department is OK, but had to take the car (2000 C70) back several times for repairs. High turn over of service staff. GM seems concerned about customers and solving problems. Lost my original paperwork and never gave me a copy until one year after the sale and with prodding from VCNA.

The one over off 316? I've heard that they are pretty bad, but never been there.
They screwed up the install of a friend's rear Ohlins though.

It is about 2 miles from my house. And I believe everyone deserves upwards of 3 chances..they used them all.
They "ordered" a bunch of parts for my swap and never actually "ordered" them....then there was something about me cussing, or something like that...not sure what it was! F 'em!

The Volvo Service Center blows. They did messed up my rear Ohlins. They kinked the stuff out of the reservoir lines so I couldn't get the repairs covered under warranty. It took them a day and a half longer to complete the install, they never called me when it was ready, and then they locked up and left before I got there to pick up the car. Left me stranded for a night. They are a bunch of thieving bastards. On top of that they charged me a lot to install the entire suspension and messed it up in the process. Thanks a lot.
I'll never go back again, I flip them off every time I pass by, and I would pay a toll to use 316 if it would get the interchange in their quicker and put those jokers out of business.
I vowed against going to Dyer & Dyer myself after they misdiagnosed my driveshaft problem as a missing front brake spring clamp (which could clearly be seen through the wheel). Since I had that problem though, I met Mike and I would take my car there in a heartbeat and demand that he do the work. Mike knows his stuff and I trust him. I generally go to the parts guys and get part numbers and then order my stuff online or through my mother-in-law.
Sorry for the long post. See you all in a month.

Which work? I had my Tranny rebuilt at a shop in loganville called Brannon's Strictly Transmissions.
South Gwinnett Auto Service (used to be SG Volvo Service but they added a guy who works on all makes) generally does all the other stuff that I can't/won't/don't-have-time-to do.

Can we split this thread between D&D and 'the goat rodeo' shop. D&D has gotten submerged in 9mil's angst about Gwinnett Volvo. For once, I'd like to stay on-track.

South Gwinnett Auto Service...These guys are the best! I started going there shortly after my warrranty ran out and I have been very pleased! Barry and his staff are fair, honest, and really nice guys. They have even offered to show me how to fix something that I had a question on.

Dyer & Dyer is probably the worst Volvo dealer that I have ever visited. The best dealership that I have found is North Point Volvo in Alpharetta. They are one of the few "small town" feeling dealers. They genuinely are concerned and good people. Sales and service both are A+. I highly recommend them as I took my 2000 V70 GLT there.
I must say though that Volvo Professional Swedish Car Repair, located in Marietta, Alpharetta and Midtown (Atlanta), they are the absolute BEST people. They are honest, informative, and upfront. Great place to get a pre purchase inspection done. Lee at Midtown, and Phillip at Marietta are great people. Never been to Alpharetta. www.volprorep.com is their website, while a tad bit simple, when it comes to Volvos of all ages they do it right!

Someone stop me before I buy another one.

Dyer and Dyer Volvo in Atlanta is fantastic in my view. I have bought 3 Volvo's from them -- the sales approach is no nonsense and not manipulative; the sales people and sales manager that I have dealt with over the last 10 years are honest and sincere.
I also use their service department. Service is prompt and service quality is consistently excellent.
A few years ago we had an intermittent problem and the service rep took the car home for several days until he could get the problem to appear and then he set about to rectify it and did so. In the whole process, he kept us informed. They also always seem to be on top of the latest Volvo service bulletins. They also seem well aware of the various Volvo user communities/forums and what is being posted there on software programmable options, etc.
They get an A++ rating in my view
