Pardon me if this has been posted, as I could not find reference to it via search.

H/L switchs for a wide range of S/V/C 70 years and perhaps other models was just announced. It does not appear to be listed at www.alldata.com yet, but call your dealer to find out if your car is affected.

It is recall Campain 142, to inspect and replace the headlight switch if you don't have the correct part number or if any of the tabs on the back that hold the switch together are broken.

Does this apply to the 850s? My headlights went out last night while I was fiddling with the switch and they wont come back on although the parking lights are on.

So I called the dealership and they denied that my 95 was recalled, saying it was 97-98. And quoted me 120 to do the job.

I don't recall a recall for the 850 headlight switch so I'm not surprised the dealer told you that.

Picked one up from fcp groton for $35 + shipping.

I find it interesting that the king of safety headlight switch defaults to off as opposed to on, in a car with daytime running lights anyway? I rigged it with a hair tie.
