I think the whole thing is the US is bullshit. People are shot by eachother all the time, and no one says anything, but when its a cop everyone starts a riot. Also cops are shot by people all the time too, and you don't hear about that.

Heres my suggestion, no matter where you live. You don't want a cop to shoot you? Don't commit a crime and act a fool when the cops come. Its that easy.

Its not like these people who were killed by the cops were law abiding saints who were The Pillars of Society.

Not on the way to start a dispute with anyone, a lot of people get shot without any involvement on the crimes around them, also a lot of cops get shot on duty or not, have you ever notice that here in the US cops never shot to hurt/disarm people(threat)? Like aiming at the legs/arms etc? couple of shots at the chest( 2 min of life left) or storm aimless like the guys in NYC a few years ago with 40-50 bullets, just saying...

I would like to think that the reason that someone shoots another person is because they fell their life is in harm. In that case, you shoot to kill. If someone has a gun, shooting them in the leg is not going to stop them from still shooting you. Also, shooting a hand gun is not like what you see in the movies. They do not have the best aim, and there is no guarantee hit if you are aiming for such a small body part such as an arm or leg. You shoot for the largest part, which is the torso.

Completely different state of mind/culture compared to ours, at least the US as a whole. We're screwed up for a lot of different reasons and it isn't going to get any better.

Civility is something that's been on the decline for awhile. There's more of it in some areas than others but it's still in decline.

Because the only reason to ever point a gun at someone and squeeze the trigger is to kill them. And that's only as a last resort, if all other options were exhausted and you are in mortal danger.

Someone is putting actual data to this question of how often cops are convicted.

http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/an-ex-cop-keeps-the-countrys-best-data-set-on-police-misconduct/

He's an ex-cop, an ex-attorney, now working as a researcher at Bowling Green University.  Plenty of valuable insights about why police are rarely charged.
