'95 850 GLT (non turbo). 104K miles. CEL came on. Had codes checked at Auto Zone, reads "PO133 - O2 sensor".

Car seems to run same as before. What happens if I just don't fix it?

I've been struggling with this car - was great for it's first 8.5 years, then 3K in repairs (steering rack, suspension components, brakes, ball joints all at once!). Told myself "the next time this car needs something I'm getting rid of it". Really like the car though, and it makes more sense to either keep running it as is, or get it fixed if it's not too expensive. Anyone have any idea as to cost to have a dealer fix this? Doing it myself is not an option - swore off self-repair after I ripped a CV boot while doing the ball joints (fork slipped!).

Thanks!

TG

The dealer would charge the cost of the diagnostics to determine what code is stored and then verify the code as correct, then the cost of the sensor and the installation. I'd guess at 1.5 hours labor for everything.

not replacing it...you could run rich/lean, you could screw your cat (not literally, but you know)....loss in performance after some time usually....dealer will take your life in exchange for doing it.....

Well, back from the dealer. front O2 sensor replaced, 1 hour labor at $82/hr and another ~$250 for the part.

Much cheaper than the sales tax on a new car!

Thanks to those who replied.
