Sales staff was dishonest about multiple things in the purchase of my car. They were also extremely unknowledgeable about their product, and would make up things about the car when answering questions or just in the general sales pitch. Car also needed over 2,000 dollars worth of repairs straight off of the lot (in all fairness, they covered these costs, but the car was represented as mechanically perfect).

If this is Volvo of Richardson, then steer clear. I went in to inquite about my 850's a/c not working. They told me one of the hoses had a split, but wanted to charge $944 to replace the compressor, hoses, and whatever else they could find attached to the a/c. I told them I'd just sweat for the summer and got my car back....not without a $70 charge to just look at it. Best part is that it's been fine ever since.
Also, with my mom's 2000 S80, she's had the ETM replaced...twice, and they still gon't guaruntee that it won't crap out again. Granted, it could just be a problem with Volvo themselves, but it's still a PITA to have it strand her.
Rear main seal would have costed $950 to go through them, I took it to an independent volvo mechanic who did it for $520 after tax, parts, and labor.
I also called them up asking what the codes on a certain CEL meant. Mind you, I had the code already read and told it to them. They refused to tell me anything about it unless I came in and paid them $60 to have them read it.
I hate that place with a passion.

New member. Just bought a 2006 S40 T5.
I almost purchased a 2007 S40 T5 from Volvo of Dallas sight unseen, using their internet department (I live 600 miles away). Negotiations were going great and I was ready to buy up until I asked about getting a pre-purchase inspection. The rep started acting shifty over the phone and said that his mechanics are Volvo certified, top notch and they're the biggest Volvo dealership around...that any other mechanic will say/find anything to try to get me to spend money at their shop. The rep agreed to take the car in himself to get it inspected. I made the appointment, he never showed up to it, and never called me back. They represented the vehicle as being in excellent condition, but were scared to actually get it inspected by an unbiased 3rd party.
Shortly after, the internet sales manager emailed me to ask how things had gone, and to make sure I was being helped. I told him how dissapointed I was, and he never got back to me. They were one of the worst dealerships I encountered in my quest to find my first Volvo, as far as friendliness and attentiveness to the customer (the other was my local dealer here in El Paso, TX, who were unwilling to find the car I wanted to buy, even though I told them I was looking to buy immediately).
If you must buy from them, make SURE you get the vehicle inspected by a reputable Volvo mechanic. If they don't agree to it, then they're likely hiding something...look for another dealership.
