I have a 1998 V70 GLT AWD that I'm having trouble with the left rear door lock. The lock will lock when I use the remote or driver door master lock but will not unlock by either means. Can any one ell me if this requires a lock replacement or is there some other potential problem. If I need to replace the door lock I'm sure I would use the procedure used to repair door locks in Bay 13.
Thanks in advance

you need to replace the electric lock mechanism, not cheap. $100+ at the dealer.

Since is the rear driver's side door, you might want to let it be for now tongue.gif

sad.gif Thanks for the reply. I will wait since I just replaced the struts and had the ABS Module repaired. I can reach back and unlock for awhile longer

A plastic lever is broken inside the door latch. Most of the time this is the problem.
Look in the maintenance section, I documented the process to repair the right front latch on my 98 V70.
On the right side the broken plastic lever is red.
I believe on the left side the plastic lever is yellow.
If you decide to replace the latch, the same instructions will help you.
