Tonight, the aircon fan started blowing at full blast. No matter which position I put the selector in (auto or any of the speeds) it blew full blast. If I moved it to 0, the aircon switched off (red light on button) but the fan carried on blowing at about 3/4 speed. Back to auto or 1, and the green light comes on, fan full speed.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Steven

If it did that with the car shut off, it's perfectly normal...it's meant to do that..

No, not the radiator fan - the one that blows air into the cabin and is responsible for me feeling rather windswept after a 7 hour drive

Sounds like a bad resistor.

OK, Fixed.
It was the resistor (except volvo call it a transistor??)
Simple enough, and not too expensive, but oh my god what a bastard to get to!
One screw was easy, the 2nd wasn't too bad. Pulling the unit out? Hell. Brute force and ignorance... There is prolly one screw somewhere that lets you drop the whole pollen filter/motor/transistor assembly out from under the dash. I couldn't find it....
