Oh my 1996 Volvo 850 GLT... Just as I was about to have some rest, I noticed that the front driver-side wheel well liner is broken. ohmy.gif Also, the bumper edge is hanging out a little bit which is caused by or causes the broken liner: broken liner and hanging bumper edge

I don't want water to get into the engine compartment from the crack (will it?), so does anyone know some quick fix for this?

I'd like to tighten the bumper edge, too. Somehow, the bumper on my car is different from what Haynes Repair Manual describes. I can't find bumper side mounting bolts. There is a one-piece plastic top around the bumper. Are the bolts under it? How do you take out the front bumper?

Thanks a lot for any advice.

I have the same problem. I'm going to call some junk yards to get a new one when I'm home. For a quick fix theres always duck tape. I wouldn't worry about water in the engine bay though.

yep, that makes 3 of us. A tractor trailer truck tire blew up 2 lanes away and put a whole in my wheel well arch (as well as brake my fod light and scuff up my front bumper... oh and took out my splash guards). Its fine except in hard rain the belts sometimes get wet and the voltage warning light comes on.

guys...IIRC these are like $30 at the dealership...call em first....the bumper is riveted to the liner...rivets are also a dealer item....

if ur bumper is hangin beyond that....i think there shood be a plastic piece that it slides into to hold it in place....

850ridah just recently did a new bumper...u may want to confirm w/ him?

can anyone surf the VADIS and tell us if there are different part numbers on these plastic liners for the normal 850 cars versus the t5r/r cars?

The wheel liners are not $30...they are closer to $75 each....I went to get one for my right side and even with my slick discount, it was still expensive...mine is all bent out and rubs like stuff on the highway when I turn left...whatever, I don't care anymore....it protects the belts...and thats all I care

Fixed a load of them with fiberglass. Will cost under 10 dollars and if your anal you can paint it and never know. Takes about 10 minutes depending on how fast you cure your resin. Just make sure to patch both sides to avoid delamination

Fiberglass to patch the liner sounds great. But what about the hanging bumper edge? Where do I start to take off the bumper? unsure.gif
