Please help me remove the door apnel on a C70. I hate those "oops" moments when you remove trim the first time and realize that since you could not see exactly how it was connected, you broke it. I know about removing the torx screws behind the little plastic covers. I have two specific questions.

1) I know I need to remove that triangular shaped black plastic cover inside of where the mirror mounts. How is it connected? Do I pull straight out? Pull up? Use a little pry bar? Does it come off easy? Hard? Any practical advice you can give.

2) My main concern is those little plastic "rivets" around the outer edge of the panel. I think I read somewhere that you drive the center post in a ways with a smooth punch of some kind. True? If so, how far do I drive them in? Is there a stop? Once driven in, will they just pop out by pulling on the panel or do I still need to get behind them with something else? I'm assuming they work on a principle like a concrete anchor, where driving in a post expands the anchor in the hole in the concrete. But I am having trouble picturing why driving the post in even further releases it. Thanks for your advice.

you will break some of these... there's no way around it.. have some extras (you can get them from the dealer)

Don't forget about the torx screw that you have to remove that's in the door pull (not the handle) and the trim piece around the door handle (inside)

there are instructions on the bay 13 site on the main volvospeed.com page.

The illustration on Bay 13 is of V70, which while close, aren't the clips different? Bay 13 says to just yank on the panel to release the clips and some will break. Some are red ands some are white. That is not what a C70 has. A C70 has what look like rivets that are color matched to the interior. But I was sure I read somewhere about punching in the center of the clips that look like rivets.

I think I found it elsewhere on Bay 13. Thanks.

... But I was sure I read somewhere about punching in the center of the clips that look like rivets. ...

When you push the center pin in far enough, the center pin falls out and the fastner can now be pulled out. Fetching the pins is the tough part. I have fashioned my own replacement pins out of plastic rod.

Often, the pin is very tight, a center punch with a flat tip and no taper at its tip is necessary to make any progress.
