Hi,
I have a 97 850 wagon with 108kmi. The timing belt was just changed and after the check engine light came on. Any ideas?

you'll have to get an OBDII reader to get the codes to see what the problem is

most local car stores should have one you can use for free (autozone)

Once you have the codes how do you know what is causing the problems?

I'd for sure check with a OBD II reader but Check engine lights can come on for even simple things like forgetting to tighten your gas cap and driving off, or like me today, after looking at my flame trap I forgot to reattach the Idle air motor's hose to the air intake hose of the throttle body. When I went back into my I car I started it but it just died on me. Then I remembered my mistake and reattached the hose, but now I have a check engine light. Dam tongue.gif . I'll just clear it when I get the chance.

The codes will allow you to decipher what the general problem is.

do a search for OBD-II codes on google to figure out what they mean, then tell us what codes you come up with, and we'll give you our thoughts.
