I bought a set of wiper blades from Target today, size 21, supposedly for my car. I put them on, drive around for a while, but as I'm coming down a slippery road (same one I totalled my 940 on) in the pouring rain, they both fly off, almost simultaneously. Now, what mate? It seems as though the Volvo blades have some sort of extra retention device. Do I need to buy OEM blades? That seems pretty retarded. I wouldn't mind modiifying the new blades if I can get them to work.

Ya, agreed. I had a fun time getting mine off because I didn't know how, but then I got it. My blades have been on for months now with no problems.

Bosch wiper blades work fine but many others don't.

I'd recommend Bosch as well, good blades.

Does Volvo use Bosch blades? I just picked up a set of Bosch Microedge (whatever their best one is at $12 each at AAP) and it "looks" exactly the same as the Volvo blades (except for the driver's side of course, because the one from AAP does not have the fin on it).

just have to make sure they are on all the way, most of the time you can hear them "click" into place

See, that was the thing, they never "clicked." It was like they were missing this pin. So I returned them and put the original ones back on which, somehow, work perfectly now. Whatever.

i had this happen before
most wipers should have the mounting clips for the volvo
it should click into place and work perfectly

i want to get the "newer" style wiper blades (the one without hinges and whatnot)
looks pretty good
