Is there anything special about changing brake lines the starting point right rear left rear and so on. Should I repalce all fluids just flushed out about 6 months ago

6 mo's is plenty fresh for fluid...no special way of installing, have some line caps arround so fluid doesn't drip all over the place. However you most of course re-bleed the lines which has a procedure of LF RF LR RR

I am not sure what type of fluid was used it was done at a shop so is it okay to mix a different fluid as long as it is rated dot 3/4 or better

was this a dealer? or indy? Dealer would have of course used the right fluid (check your manual DOT 3 + i belive)

I think you need DOT 4 or better. (Meaning DOT 4 plus as the better) Absolutely NOT DOT 5.

I believe for 850 is DOT 4(+).
DOT 3 is sillicon base totally different animal. Mix it and you will regret it.

checked the manual and it is indeed DOT 4+
