Hey all,
Well, im trying to fix the creaks and other misc. noises in the interior of my C70. I have the VADIS info(thanks again Slater) but in examining the car I noticed the plastic piece that mounts between the dashboard and the windshield is cracked. The crack goes front to bank right where the alarm light is mounted. I would like to know if I can remove this piece without taking the dashboard off. Just to clarify it is the plastic piece that has the defroster vents in it. I don't want to try and pull it just to have it snap in half. Anyone removed this before?
thanks,
Matt

That piece is part of the dash, the top dash pad slides into it. The top dash pad can be removed without pulling the dash but that piece you are talking about is part of the dash assembly.

Hi there,
Thanks for the reply, thats what I was afraid of. Can I order the defroster vent assembly separately or is it part of the whole? Im thinking that the crack is part of my problem. It is so loud in my car when the stereo off I want to just start punching the dash, lol.

You would have to order the entire dash.

Hi there,
See, thats where I get confused. I purchased a charcoal upper dash assembly(includes the vents/center speaker/etc)and I noticed it does not come with this piece. Thats why I assumed it was a separate piece. When searching the net to everytime I found a c70 dash assembly for sale it never includes it. Is it part of the center/lower dash assembly?
thanks again for the help,
Matt

The part you need is connect to the main dash section it's part of it, I'd give you the part number but there are many depending on trim code, wood grain etc.
Parts calls it "Dash board Upper section. If you could stop by a Volvo dealer, their parts department could call it up for you on the computer.
