Hi
I just got done replacing my front and rear rotors and pads. The brakes have been so smooth and clean since, and I have put 500 miles on them.
Today I noticed a small screech come from the rear brakes. It is not there when I brake, but when I let off the pedal.
I used the cut-out shims but possibly something has got disloged or I did something wrong.
Any ideas??
Matt

it makes an audible noise when you let off the pedal? if that is the case i would check for a hanging caliper
did you use silicone grease or some sort of brake quiet on the back of the pads?

Hi
Thanks, what is a hanging caliper?
I used copper grease on the back of the pads and shims.

copper grease? what do tell is that?
a hanging caliper is when the piston starts to hang up instead of retract, when you replaced the pads did you take the caliper off and check out the piston & clean it up w/ a wire brush?

Hi Travis
Copper grease aka anti-sieze compound.
The rear drivers side caliper had siezed, I guess because the brake pads had worn more on one side.
I got the piston to move freely and replaced the rubber seal.
Oddly today the brakes didn't make any sound at all so I am thinking there was a small stone or something.
