My car throws Code 4-4-3: catalytic converter efficiency. As I browse on the Internet, I see some catalytic converter cleaner. Has anyone used that type of thing? Will it get rid of Code 4-4-3?

I doubt it will get rid of the code. What normally causes the code is a bad rear O2 sensor. If the rear O2 sensor is bad, you "Might" have a bad cat, but I honestly don't see very many of the FWD Volvo Cats go bad.

I read somewhere that you can sometimes remove the O2 sensor and burn it with a torch to get rid of anything that might have accumulated on it with a badly running car or one that burned a lot of oil.
Mine burned though at least 4 or 5 quarts before I figured out that my "PCV" had to be cleaned out so the crankcase pressure would not blow oil by the Turbo seals.
Since I;ve done the cleaning it is now throwing a 4-4-3 code. I also have a 2-3-2 but this was present event before the cleaning.
Do you think the burning of the oil could have fouled the O2 sensor(s) ? And what do you think about the burning off idea?
Thanks.

I replaced rear O2 sensor three months ago -- a sign of dying cat.? I get 4-4-3 in various intervals, sometimes 500+ mi./2+ weeks later. Cat. cleaner doesn't do harm to the expensive Volvo parts, does it? If not, I'll give it a try.
