under my post about my abs: 99V70XC with abs and tracs lights on, i put in the
conclusion: dealer found a lose axle bolt, the center one that holds the axle to the hub.
so i was watching him and I was impressed the see him clean the threads in a rotating wire brush, then grease the bolt, clean out the inner axle threads with some carb cleaner, and torque it down with the airwrench to "about 80"
why does this bolt have red on it? was it right to grease it? what it the right torq?
my worry is I need to take it back and ask for locktite.

If the red stuff was on the threads, that is loctite (or a similar product). "About 80" is fine, though Rich suggests in his Bay13 instructions to take it to 89ft-lbs plus another 30 degrees.
If your red looks like paint on the very tip of the bolt or nuts, it's usually just markings from the factory. Orientation dealy.
