97 850 T-5 wagon 90,000 miles

I replaced the fuel pump last week and ended up having to replace one of the fuel lines since I broke it at the pump.

Since then my battery dies every morning - When I jump it, it starts right up and runs fine.

The lights go out like normal (map lights, etc), but when I turn off the car, they stay on door open or not.

The lights in the footwells light up, so I know it's not the door switch.

The other things I have done are left the battery disconnected while replacing the pump and line, removed both ecu's and reseated them, and left the ground wire from the pump disconnected (nowhere to hook it to).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Messed around with the car a bit more, if I lock the car, the lights will go out.

If I unlock it, whether I open the door or not, the light stays on. I waited maybe 30 seconds just to be sure.

Looked around the car more and couldn't find anything wrong, still have no idea why the lights stay on inside the car only if it's not running and unlocked draining the battery

Anyone know what the extra wire on the new fuel pump is for? I just assumed it was since the pump is supposedly the same in all models.

My car does the exact same thing, if I don't lock it the lights stay on. So I make sure I lock it, or turn off the lights on with door opening mode.. The light assembly above the mirror needs to be replaced, the timing circuit in there isn't working, the lights should go out in 20 seconds or so.

Thanks for the reply, so is it just a coincidence that I was doing other work on the car?

Also, any idea how much a replacement is?

Thanks again!
