All,
I have an annoying coolant smell in my S70T5. From looking on this board, it's probably the heater core, o-rings or the core hoses connecting the core to the firewall. Without taking the core out, is there any easy way to tell exactly what the problem is (either core, o-rings or hoses)? I noticed a good price for a core was at FCPGroton. Anyone know where to get either the o-rings or core hoses? I didn't see either of them at FCPGroton.

Thanks. Jim B.

Groton will have all of it. If it's not listed give them a quick call.

If you pull your carpet back from under the gas peddle a bit and look up on the fire wall you can see the 2 hoses that go through the firewall and to the heater core. If you see coolant running down the firewall then the O-rings need replaced. If all looks dry then you are looking at the heater core.
When I did mine I picked up the core and O-rings from Groton and ended up only doing the core. Pulling the hoses to get to the O-rings looks to be a major pain in the arse. I'm going to wait for them to leak before I replace them.
Never heard any info on changing the hoses. Mine is a 98' and the hoses felt great.
Good Luck
