I am asking if someone has changed the door weatherstripping of the
850 door and maybe some other trim of the roof and windshield.
As I was driving the other day I hear a large scary noise on the car and
when I have arrived home I see that the piece of plastic at the windshield
top is not all the way attached to the windshield. I take some exterior caulk
like for a house and glue him down and am thinking perhaps the roof will
come off next and the doors are maybe made more quiet from wind noise
if I shall replace these weatherstrippings.
I am to go to the dealer soon for other things and should I buy these pieces
and install them myself or shall it be normal to allow the dealer to do this?
Thank you

The window thing is really common, the last time I had a window replaced by safelite the installer said they allways come off, not even just a volvo thing, he used some of the window glue on it, and its never moved. Its black gooey stuff, I think you can get it at to auto parts store.
as for the door seals, you can use a silicone (and not teflon) based lubricant spray, tends to renew them a bit, and help with wind noise. Picked up the trick from a british car friend.
