98 S70 GLT
My air pump turns on after the car is warmed up (my pump is real noisy, so I know its the pump and not the fan). It turns on ONLY when the car is stopped and in gear. As soon as the car starts moving the air pump turns off. If the car is stopped and in gear and the pump turns on, putting it in neutral and giving it a bit of gas causes it to turn off also.
At the suggestion of several board members I just replaced the Air Pump relay, but, that didn't stop it from turning on. Any other ideas?

Im not sure I can provide any technical answers as to what to look at, but thought i'd chime in that, my car allways throws the check engine light for the air pump/ air injection after its been running for a while, I cannnot tell if the pump is running, cause the light pops on while im driving..... kind of weird, but mabye it runs some sort of self test? It used to pop on after sitting in neutral for a while...... but i havent had that happen for a while since I replaced the vaccum relay thing under the fan shroud.... sorry for the lack of technical detail..
