Have you been working in the engine prior to your problem?

did you leave something unplugged? Check the fuel pump relay

Pull one of the plugs, if its wet from unburned fuel more than likely you have an ignition problem. If its dry, then its fuel system problem. If its the former, make sure you are getting spark to the plugs. If not, there are any number of reasons but the easiest are to check your cap and rotor for arching, etc. Also make sure all your wires to the coil are OK. In regard to the latter, see if you can hear the fuel pump running. Could be a bad pump, bad wiring to the pump, or a bad fuel pump relay. These items would be the basics. If all of these are OK, things start getting a bit complicated and probably best to cal lin a pro if you are not real familiar with this type of thing.

Good luck,

Fuel pump is working, there is no power to the fuel injectors It is at a shop, a Volvo only shop. Other dealers have been called and my uncle who is a VP at ASE is on the issue too with Volvo Cars NA and noone knows what is wrong. Was just hoping someone would have some more guess' on here. Thanks though.

Just on an off chance. I had the same trouble with a Porsche that I had one time. Turned out to be a cold joint in the wiring loom going to the injectors. Porsche dealer couldn't figure it out immediately so the fix ended up being a $2 wiring splice and $1000 of labour while everybody stood around scratching their heads.

Moral of this story, see if you are getting power to the injectors. Surely Volvo has a procedure that will allow this to be checked.

Good luck,

He soldered a connection he said was bad. Drove it home, died that night, started again the next day. Driving it back to the shop, it kept sputtering and wanting to die. Every time it would do that, the CEL came on. He's replacing the cam position sensor again, as he said it threw 2 codes for it...

Could this be an ignition switch problem?
Just a thought.
