100K mile club

So I hate to ask, but how much did the new engine cost?

Its funny you ask! I bought the car on the spot because it looked brand new- I was expecting it to be several thousand for the motor. After lots of time on the Internet I found a salvage yard that had a motor with 17k on it for $2500. I figured it was going to be a mess when it arrived because of the price, but it was nicely packaged with the entire wiring harness attached! I have found the companies represened on www.car-part.com have some pretty good used parts with a guarantee! I am going to try and buy anything major that breaks from that website since you get volvo original for 1/4 the cost- they even list the mileage on the parts!

I have 124,000 and still going excellent, lost track of how many sets of tires. On G3's now they are great in the Florida rain

I will dig up the photos we have going 100 and turning 100,000. I now have 124,000 and the car looks and runs great. Burns about 1/2 quart of oil every 1,000 mile interstate run. Which means steady 85 mph and many bursts to 110 gets me to North Carolina quickly

126k and still going strong. Runs like a dream. Smooth. Quiet. Powerful. Pulls like a freight train. Love this car!

139k on my 04

All miles mine, except teaching kids to drive a stick and two days my wife had it.

I have replaced a lot of parts, including but not limited to these things I can think of right now: clutch, angle gear, drive shaft, rear sub frame, front upper strut mounts, front calipers, AC compressor, power steering pump, front hubs, shifter cables. Must have been through 8 sets of brake pads, two sets of front rotors.

40 track days.

Of these items, only the rear sub frame was under warranty.

Now (desperately) needs front struts, and I have trouble shifting again, but I am out of dough.

Will be there shortly....presently at 99,500 with 500 left on my extended warranty. The car is in the shop for another round of computer module failures (happened three years ago)...just in time to still be covered!

Have had all the known glitches, but on the whole, a great and fun car.

101K on the 04, all mine. New front struts, on 3rd set of front discs, just put 2nd set on rears...first lasted 100K; also replaced rear parking brake assemblies just before they were going to explode.

Leaky PS reservoir tank, like everyone else. All the electronics still work just fine. No oil leaks, dry as a bone on the underside. Still only burn about a quart every 3-4 K miles.

Putting in an awesome 4-way Schukra electro-mechanical lumbar support in driver's seat as a present to my back, because I can't afford a new Bimmer with a comfort seat.

Still one of the best-handling big cars I have ever put my foot into......

WOW, I've been stuck under 32000 mile's for some time now. (on the 06VR) 114500 on the 00VR, the 855R just turned over 140K. I should probably swap more often, but every time I drive the 06 it seems somebody almost hit's me.

Just pulled into the driveway and hit 137,100 miles on the nose. Have had all the typical P2 problems and still have 2 more to fix, but I love this dam car.
