The steering wheel locking mechanism isn't locking, so the steering wheel moves up and down, this sucks. Any help is greatly appreciated.

probably the bolt is loose.
Remove the plastic covers behind the steering wheel and tighten the bolt to the steering lock mechanism.

Do you mean the pastic covers covering the steering shaft? Or the knee bolsters? Thanks.

Use the above post and it will allow you to take off the plastic We are talking about, then you can better check out whats not working.

I tried it today and it worked very well. The nut is on the opposite side of the lever I was done in about 15 minutes.
