I was driving the vette (5.7 350 w/ tuneport, Automatic) and came to a four way stop. Across the intersection was a little hatch back civic sounding like stuff. I was not trying to be rude or anything but I just shook my head to my self thinking "why did you do that" well he appearetly saw it cause after we both crossed the intersection heading differnent directions from each other, he most of turned around somewhere, cause he was all of a sudden on my rear. I turned of the main road and he came up on my side and wanted to know what I thought was wrong with his car. Before I could even answer he asked if I wanted to go. So I said sure. We went back on to the main road which is 2 lanes wide each side but only one line traffic, So he pulled near the curb and I got next to him, and he wanted to hit it from 25. So we did, He killed me, I dropped to first gear and I dropped to 2nd. He was gone. I have always siad the vette was slow between like 20 and 45 if you just try to punch it. I was really bad, cause I watched him beat me and seat there thinking "wow, that is really not fast" The volvo would have eat it. Oh well helped his ego some I am sure. I did asking if he had anything done, and he siad it was the 2.2 vtec prelude motor but still. A real race from a dead stop would have been much different.

What year is your Vette? Not all of them were fast. I believe the early/mid 80s Vettes had crossfire injection and the 5.7L V8 only yield 170hp, stock which is pathetic. Oh wait, you have a tuneport injection? So that must be a late 80s Vette, with 250hp? The automatic probably didn't help either, although the LT1 automatic Vettes were as fast as the 6 speed ones. (read about this in MT a few years back).

He said 350hp, I believe.

That would make it a rather recent model.

I wouldn't be to dissapointed, civics with a h22 are low 12 high 11 sec cars, I know I used to have one.

yeah it is a 90 so about 250, but it has not torque to accelerate in the mid range like that.

Got any pics of your Vette? I knew a guy in college who had a ZR-1 around that year. Maybe it was a early 90s. MAN, was that thing fast.

I have pics saved to my computer, but I dont know how to post them. any ideas. I looks pimp but does not have the balls of a 400+ HP ZR-1. How could you afford a ZR-1 in college. Wow. Oh and as for it being and slush box, yeah it sucks but beggers cant be choosers, I got it for 5000 and am selling it for 13000 so yeah

That's a helluva deal you got there for that Vette. The guy in college I knew came from a really rich family, so getting him a ZR-1 wasn't a huge deal. It did have high miles, but it drove beautifully.

My favorite newer Vettes (other than the Z06) are the mid 90s LT1 vettes. I love that pushrod V8 engine and the way these year Vettes looked. I'd love to get my hands on a 6 speed, or hell I'd even be happy with an automatic. I believe it had 300hp, which is decent. 0-60 in mid/high 5s I believe. Here's a beautiful '96 Corvette GS 6 speed on ebay. Look at those miles!

Mine looks alot nicer but doent have the 6spd or lt 1 Got to here and look for a 1990 vette with 81000 miles in Rock Island IL. There are pics there.

Nice Vette! I really like the color and the wheels. Is it faster than your T-5R? Wasn't sure if your Volvo was stock or not.

Faster... yes from a stop. hit it on the go... no the volvo is still stock. here are some more pics and one of the parts car just to make you cry

Civic hatches with the H22 motor in it run mid to high 13s on just the motor.

no way I am keeping this one. later in life... I plan to have a topless vette or viper not sure which. The motor in mine is like the weakest you can get in a vette so that my have something to do w/ it. I still have total props for vettes and love for my car.
