Howto: Remove Airbag Warning Stickers
#1

Tools Required
* 3M Adhesive Remover (the one in a metal can) - $9
* Clean Rag/cloth - $??
* RECOMMENDED: 3M Particulate Resperator with HEPA filters - $40ish, always good to have this!
* RECOMMENDED: Safety goggles (don't want to get this shiznit in your eyes...)
* RECOMMENDED: Latex gloves
* Some paper towels
* Soap
I recommend you take as many safety precautions as possible. Work outside or somewhere with as much ventilation as possible. Breathing in chemicals such as the adhesive remover can't be good for you; unless you want brain damage. Also, don't blame me if you screw up anything. You have been warned!
Step 1
Take off any of the stickers you want to remove. Try to pull them so that as much glue as possible comes off. Clean your hands because that stuff is uber sticky.
Step 2
With your resperator, gloves and goggles on, open up the 3M Adhesive Remover. Take the little rag/cloth, put it over the opening of the bottle and turn the bottle over a few times to get the remover on the rag.
Step 3
Now, begin by first applying the adhesive remover to a small portion of the sticker residue. Use a blotting action, but hold the rag on the residue for a few seconds before blotting again. Now use the same adhesive covered section of the rag to very very lightly rub the area you just blotted. It should begin to literally disappear.
Step 4
Continue blotting and wiping until the rag is dry. Repeat step 3 until most of the residue is gone.
Step 5
This step is not listed anywhere on the adhesive remover can, but I did eitherway. Take your paper towel, wet it and put some soap on it (any soap will do). Now clean the surface you just did. This will ensure you don't have any more of the adhesive remover on your surface.
Done! Now air out your car and enjoy the a cleaner interior!
Cheer!

Why would I be? They are cheap and easy to use. I use them whenever painting or using hazardous chemicals.
I know Goo Off isn't as dangerous, but this stuff is worse than paint thinner.

Ah, OK. I don't have any experience with the 3M stuff - sounds nasty!
Better safe than sorry!

For tougher adhesives use Ronsonol Lighter Fluid (yellow bottle) where you don't have to worry about the surface you are working on.

I tried using a citrus-based adhesive remover and it didn't work well.

Perhaps, but it wasn't working for me for some reason. Oh well.. the harsh chemical stuff worked very well

But yeah.. the chemical stuff worked good. I'm much happier now that I don't have to see those sliding/curling stickers.
