At WOT off the line, my car has sort of a stuttering feeling as it accelerates...almost feels like the trans is shifting all weird, but not really...kinda like a pausing feeling as it accelerates....is this misfiring ?
I have pretty new plugs, wires, rotor, cap, filter.....
But i have the platinum Bosch plugs, and am switching to coppers at .26 this weekend...
Just want to know if that feeling in the car I have is what misfiring feels like!
Thank,

My NA went nuts with Bosch Platinums. From what I have heard here, the Turbos like them even less. How lond have they been in your car? Try the coppers sooner than later-- cheap test.

yeah, but still, is that misfiring that I feel?...i don't know what misfiring of the cylinders is supposed to feel like, but i'm thinking it's what is going on....ive had the plats on for about 5-6 months I think....i'm switching them over to coppers .26 this weekend...they are cheap as heck, so i don't mind putting them in and seeing if that feeling goes away, but i just want to confirm that it is misfiring!

It sounds like it could be misfiring. Try the plugs first. Look at the distributor cap and rotor to make sure it's not carbon fouled and pitted. Do the blanket test on the coil. (at night with the engine running put a blanket over your head and look at the coil and make sure it's not arking to the metal bracket thats around it.

sounds like misfiring to me Pras. bet the coppers will fix it, turbos HATE plats, especially with some mileage on them and high boost, i.e., speedtuning chip. if it doesn't I'd follow rich's advice.

Best wagon ever if the damn airbox would stop vibrating and it didn't have a Ford Escort headliner.

yeah, i just finished gapping my autolite coppers...man, there has to be a better gapper out there....it's so hard to judge by dragging the plug on the gapper!...i mean, it could be .25, could be .27!...any links to a GOOD accurate gapping tool?
I will put them in on Friday if it's not pouring!!...if that does not work, then i'll try the blanket test...thanks fellas...i'll let ya'll know what happens, and let's see how those old platinums look!

Pras I had the same hesitation w/ plats in my NA after a couple of thousand miles- took em' out and they were all fouled up and rather shi*ty looking. Put in some coppers and it was back to normal. Good luck, I'm pretty sure you'll be all set once you replace the plugs.
edit: shi*ty isn't in the filter

I have had 0 (giant goose egg) luck with Bosch plats in anything! I think they just plain suck! (my opinion only) Never heard of the blanket test but a good idea. I usually just mist down the ignition system with water in a spray bottle. I have no other issues with Bosch products (their great) but the plats are horrible
