Yesterday I replaced my sway bar links on my 1995 Volvo 850 with new dealer OEM parts.

The inside nut is now been done away with. You now will need a 14MM wrench (cresent or open ended ) and a #30 Torx socket.

To tighten the part to the car you will need the #30 torx to hold the bolt while you tighten the 14MM nut. The torx is in the center of the bolt that you tighten the nut down on.

In the middle of my job I had to make a run to O'Reilleys to pick up the the blasted #30 torx socket to complete the job. I am convinced that before I die I will own every tool ever made biggrin.gif

Otherwise - replacing the sway bar link rods is about a 30 minute job for both sides.

my ones from FCP where like that too...the prob i found is that the torx fitting isn't deep enough, i would like something where the socket goes in farther

The torx hole hole on the Volvo oem links were adequate.

Just another dumb swedish engineering concept called regression. Take something that works and "improve" it to make it a PIA.

Now you cannot use a 14mm socket to remove the nut - but instead have to use an open end crescent / socket in combination with a 30 torx.

Imagine what you could face trying to get this loose after 30K miles and lots of stuff locking the nut on real tight sad.gif
