First off, this is my first posting so im probablly doing it wrong but this is a great site. I have a 98' S70 and every one in a while at idle it will stumble, there arent any check engine lights on, and no performance mods, it has done it for about a year now, i havent notied any loss of power or gas mileage. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what it is, also the front strut makes a squeeking noise. i appreciate your help. Adam

This will probably get moved to maintenance, but I would try cleaning the throttle body. Rich or Winkey will point you in a better direction.

Clean the throttle body and the IAC motor. That will fix your rough idle most likely

Sadly, this topic had been covered hundreds of times. There was a technical service bulletin put out about a year ago now. It explained that the ECM needed a re-flash from the dealer.

Stumble could be from a dirty Throttle body, and IAC motor, but it can also be from the need for new plugs, cap and rotor, and maybe wires.

Could be that spring seat or even spring mount are beginning to fail. The only way to really know for sure would be to remove the strut from the Car. But if you do that you will ruin the alignment. Usually this sort of thing is taken care of when one changes the struts and shocks of their car.
