Basically, I want a black on black 1998 S70 T5 5-speed. But it's REALLY hard to find that combo. If I find a black one, the interior is tan, or if i find a black interior, the exterior isnt black.

What do you think would be easier/cheaper? A NICE paint job on the exterior, or changing out the interior?

more expensive = painting.
more time consuming = switching int.

painting the exterior would probably be alot easier than swapping the interior. I know a few guys did the interior swap and said it was a major pain in the butt.

what worked for my friend when he was looking for a car was he put notes on ppl's cars that he wanted to buy...it worked out for him
maybe you could try that too instead of waiting for a black black to come along

Paint is quite expensive. Something really nice would probably run near $10k- don't know if you want that nice though.

That'd be BEYOND show car quality. A good paintjob (including door and trunk jams) will be around 5-7k.

PRoblem is, the engine bay wont match. That would drive me insane.

Swap the interior man, like Doug said, the differnt color engine bay would ruin it.

10 K for a paint job isn't going to get you show quality. a guy in my corvair club paints and a plain paintjob is like 15K. but then again he does Darn good quality work. and that also includes body work.

i have been doing a paint job on several cars, and for me, it was a $200 paint job. the quality wasn't perfect, but it was decent, and, ohh by the way, my friend did it.
