i have a few spots like that on my hood.
It seems like the clear coat is slowly peeling away.
A few questions I have are.. how did this happen and waht can I do to fix it.
Spring is comin up and its gotta shine in the sun, not peel like a suburn!

I have heard there is at least a 40lb difference. It is enough that you can't use the stock hood springs because they are too powerful.

I have the exact same thing on my car, I think it was caused by rocks chipping the paint and then water getting under the clear coat and continuing to burrow a hole until it turns into a polygonal shape. The best way to temporarily hide it is to peel off all of the loose clear coat and give the hood a nice wax, this will blend in the color better and make it less noticeable. I am planning to repaint it once it gets real bad, it only gets worse after time. If anyone asks, I just say my turbo is so big its melting a hole in the hood. cool.gif

But she doesn't need a new stock hood, she just has to repaint her current one!

I'd say go with CF, it would look so sick with your color car!

Sorry! unsure.gif

I've got something very similar on my car (dark blue/green... same as your's? I'm a bit color blind w/blues and greens tho), and I originally just sanded off the peeling parts and hit it w/some touch-up clear. It looks 'okay,' but you can definitely notice it. However, I have that eyesore, and a gajillion rock chips, and some on the front half of the fenders.. time for a repaint.

I'd say in your case, get an estimate on a reshoot of the hood. Can't cost much more than $500.
