Heyas,

Was just wondering is there anything i can spray or wipe onto my rims to prevent brake dust from getting on it?...After i've cleaned my rims and driven for that day...the front rims always look slightly noticeably greyer then the back rims...which looks kinda odd.

Anyhelp would be great....Thanks.

wheel wax like these will help cleanup next time

won't prevent dust for sticking, but will allow for easier clean up.

Thanks...it's easy to wipe off...it's just that it keeps coming back after you drive around for that day.

u could try some other type of brake pad...the oem ones are probably the least likely to squeal, but they make a lot of dust. other pads can result in less dust...but it's random as to whose brakes squeal as a result..just put some anti-squeal in the back of the pads (and only there...as u can imagine grease on the rotors is deadly)..

i agree, the OEM pads suck when it comes to dust. i've read that the EBC Greenstuffs are good. i haven't done a whole lot of reading about it, so i'm sure someone more knowledgeable will chime in.

PBR Deluxe leaves a lot less dust than OEM. Some folks report squealing with non-OEM rear pads. A suggested solution is to use a lot of silicon grease coupled with teflon-backed shims. iPD sells the teflon shims for $7.50/set of 4 and they recommend them for the PBR Deluxe. FCP Groton also sells teflon shims for $4/set. Their price of PBR pads are also lower.

Yeah my car had non-OEM brake pads fitted by a previous owner...and was causing a squeal/sqweak while braking..which was pretty loud. We got them changed to genuine volvo brake pads...and it's quiet as anything now..But yeah it does cause queit abit of brake dust on rims.

Raybestos Quiet Stop ceramic pads work well, as long as they are installed properly. I have many miles on these pads, they only squeak after braking if the car has sat in rain at work without being driven all day, but only just after warming up..starting and stopping a few times. The brake dust is also lighter in color so you don't notice it has much, OEM pads generate tons of black dust.
