I would like to be able to turn the OEM fogs on/off without being dependant on the headlights. Has anyone ever done this? I definately want to keep the OEM switch as well. Could someone enlighten me on how-to?

Thanks

Ps: I still can't use search... blink.gif

I'm super sure this has been done before. All it involves is moving the power for the foglight switch to one that's on during either RUN or ACC.

there was talk a while back about just changing one or two of the wires for the foglight switch (I believe splicing off a different power/control source)...It would be much easier than following the instructions in that PDF file. Did anyone figure out how to do this?

I did that .. and it is not hard to do at all !! just need to buy wires and a relay and a fuse holder ... cheap and fast .. the circuit diagram in that instruction is easy to follow..

so go ahead!

seemed complicated to me. I read somewhere that you can switch some things w/ the relay that mounted under the dash and get it to work independently from that. Not sure what needs to be changed though.

Actually that does look pretty simple, especially after I just wired a full high/low beam relay system for my H4 especs on my other car. You could probably get the relay and fuse holder from Daniel Stern Lighting if you have trouble finding the gear locally.

splice into ACC
ACC is mean to take tons of current since it is powering basically everything
thats what i did with my aftermarket fogs and it looks hella good

why do you need pictures?
just find the power wire of the fog light , cut it out, find the ACC wire (best spot is either radio or cigarette lighter, and its yellow methinks) and connect the two

We want to know exactly which color wire on the back of the fog light switch to cut, where to cut it, and then exactly where and which wire we need to splice that into. I don't have a wiring diagram, nor a voltmeter, and I don't want to deal with testing all the wires to see which one gets power (if someone else has done this already and can pass the info along smile.gif) Thanks! smile.gif
