So last week i dont know if anyone remember but there was a thread about how my car got broken into via a broken window and door. I've already got the window fixed and now i'm gonna start workin on fixing the door. This is the damage:





As of right now the door dosent open from the outside and its in pretty bad shape. Theres a nice dent in the door thats gonna need fixing and theres a fair amount of paint damage that will need to be taken care of as well. So what i'm thiking seeing as i got this under insurance is that maybe i can shave that door handle?? I really dont know how bad the damage is because i havent gotten it quoted yet but i figure my options are either:
1. fix the same door - keep it stock looking
2. Door cant be fixed - buy a new door
3. Fix door and shave handle

Again the whole cost to fix this door is under insurance money so what do you guys think i should do?

I would replace the whole door, it might take longer to find an exact replacement, but it is the best solution to reverse the situation.

the deductible has already been taken care of Via the new window. Everything that happens to my car from here on in is 100% covered by my insurance.

K first things first - good lord Kevin you reply fast to stuff haha! And second instead of getting a whole new door, i'm thinking that i could do something i've always wanted to do and thats shave my handles. Seeing as how my handle is fcuked this seems like a perfect opportunity to get some professionals to "fix" my door

Well see this is where i can get creative in my claim. I dont promote insurance fraud at all, but i might be able to get alot more done to my car than i really should. Like they scratched my passenger door too, just a little bit, but its there - maybe that can warrent a paint job on it, and if their gonna paint it, maybe i can get em' to fix some other things too.

Now all 4 handles? i'm not even gonna try swinging that, but maybe if insurance pays for 2, and i pay for 2, its a helluva lot better than paying for all 4 right?

Yeah man me too, my Dad is the one whos got all the problems with me modding MY car. He dosent want me doing anything permanent to the car cause "i'll never be able to sell it". That might be true - but i'm 20 years old, i'm not gonna need a new car anytime soon that would warrent me selling this one.

Ahh screw em', i've done everything else to my car without tellin em', and he dosent say it - but i know he loves it haha.
