So, spring has sprung up here in the arctic tundra you all know as Canada, and my new car need a wax job.

But before i do that, there are some ston chips around the grill of my Black 850 and i was wondering what (if any product) you'd all recommend that i use to fill those in without re-painting the whole hood.

This Turtle Wax Color Cure comes with a little lipstick thing of paint filler or some such crap that you are supposed to use to fill any chips. If i had a car that wasn't black i wouldn't think of using it, but color matching i hope won't be an issue.

Does anyone have any comments/concerns about this product or can recommend something else that will work better.

While i'm asking.. what would be the wax/polish of choice you use!?

Doesn't work on my white car. I touch up, then wait an hour and use Maguiar's #1, followed by #2, then Gold Class wax. Leaves it wet and creamy.

I don't know if you get the sandblasting damage down in Waterloo like we do here in the North Bay area, but I tried some of that Turtle Wax coloured wax stuff on a black SAAB I had once. It worked initially, but over a fairly short time it washed out and made the nose of the car look almost worse. We also used it on my son's black Jetta TDI with the same result.

I took a look at the front of my red R over the weekend and I think I'm going to be forced to wet sand and then do a light re-spray with some more wet sanding to bring mine back. But I also don't have to contend with a clearcoat since the red (code 603??) does not use it. So I've had good luck before with this type of touch-up using Dupont Centuri paint and an airbrush. I get an excellent match and its easy to work. Once I get done with the wet sanding I go thru the Meguiar's polishing compounds and a coating of Techwax and am good to go. Next weekend's project, I guess, as long as the weather holds up.

all i use is the turtle wax color cure, it does actually darken the paints color but if the chips are to big then the chipstick doesnt stay inside the chips, i do recommend using the wax for making the color of your car deeper and.......well...more colorful.
