17'' Rims On A 94 854

Hello all,

I was told by a volvo employee that I will have rubbing issues if i put 17'' rims on my '94 854.

My car is basically stock but I had the eibach springs installed...

I was planning on purchasing the 17'' Fast Wheel Gotland Volvo replicas with falken 451 205/50/17...

He also told me that 17'' would put to much stress on my front suspension...

Im sure many of you guys got 17'' and up...

Can anyone confirm that this is a bad idea? Will it really rub?

17" even 18" wheels fit.

how WIDE are the wheels you want?

you should've asked him how they get 17's on the 850 t5-r's and 850r's stock.

...and i know this is a 94...but close enuf arent they (ie 94 vs 95+)

Well im not sure about the width yet but they are a 17'' replicas of the Nebula's...

I'm also not sure if i should get 45 or 50 profile...

with 17s, don't go more than 45 profile

volvo guys don't know jack
they didn't know what pegs were...

here we go...IMO, these are the optimal tire sizes for different wheel sizes on lowered 850s

17"x7.0": 205/45/17
17"x7.5": 215/40/17
17"x8.0": 225/40/17

EDIT: 17"x7.5": 215/45/17 may also work, but could result in rubbing, depending on which lowering springs you have

It should be noted that wheel offset will also impact whether or not your tires will rub

1988 745 GLE Turbo - 174 WHP, 209 TQ.
1996 965 - Needs (preferably paint code 418) front bumper cover and pass side: front fender trim, side mirror, taillight (red-clear-clear-red). PM Me!!
