Well, my car is still in the shop...no CF, no nothing. These insurance people are all shady and even had some dumb jerk drag my tail pipe & front bumper when towing it to the paint/body shop. mad.gif these people just *sigh* ne ways... When the brick went through the winshield it also messed up the vent closest to the window...

and now my insurance person says that it is not replacable. Is this true??? She offers to waive my deductible which sounds pretty good to me but I am a neat freak and I know that it will always bother me. Should I take the waiver or no?

Replacing it involves taking out the dash cover and then probably a good section of the dash. Lots of the glass probably got into the heater piping. Vacuum your car often too, since broken glass is impossible to fully clean up. I still find glass in my car and sister's cars (two seperate incidents).

The part itself? Not sure. I can find the part # so you can call a dealership and ask.

Hmm, I can't find the part number for that part. For some reason VADIS doesn't list it... odd.

The part exists, it's a seperate part. But Vadis doesn't have a number for it... it varies for each chassis number apparently.

Mmmm, not that bad I guess. Really haven't checked to really take a look cuz I thought my insurance would just have bought me a new one already. I think I remember it as one side completely cracked and part of the center + a scuffed/indented dash

Ok, went to the dealer today. That part is not a seperate peice from the dash at all. They said that the complet dash would have to be replaced (~1200 give or take) and that they should take care of it. Now I'm going round and round with my insurance. They say they'll waive my $500 deductible, but I don't see how that is fair when that part is $1200. Errrrr I hate this ish...

Your insurance company is willing to waive the deductible because they do not want to pay for the whole dash. In other words, they are trying to rip you off. Tell them no thank you, you will pay your deductible and they will replace your damaged dash, just like your contract you have with them says they will. And if you don't mind telling us, what insurance company is this? Insurace companies try to do this stuff all the time, and they get away with it enough that they keep trying.

My insurance company is farmers, and yeah already told them that they were full of it if they thought I'd go for that. I'm thinking I'll take the $1200 and pay my deductible with it and pay off my car finally.
