Those of you who have used Forever Black, how many applications did you need? Was one bottle enough? Have you experienced any fading or signs of wear again?

For reference, here's where you can get it for cheap (as posted by LiquidKernal in another thread)

I used it on the roof rails, and it took three or four coats before it looked mediocre. If you get close, you can see the splotches where it dried before I could even it out. From far away, though, it looks fine.

One bottle will be enough. I bought my first one last year ... since then I've used it on my front bumper twice, all the door trim pieces once, all my doors handles once, and the black cowling under the hood by the windshield. I just bought some new front mudguards and I've coated them like five times each front/back. Oh, almost forgot to mention I did all the black trim on my Mazda once too. I can't seem to dispatch this bottle even though I have another new one laugh.gif

The first coat won't look good anywhere other than on the side trim and perhaps door handles. The bumpers take a few coats (which I have yet to apply). If you're doing the mirrors, take them off and do it like that. Also, I will be doing that plastic cover that the wiper motors are covered by as well.

No fading yet, seems to be solid. Be careful if you get bird sh*t on the bumper or something, as it will eat away at the dye. But that can be easily fixed with a quick swipe of the applicator. Also, some oh yeah! tapped my bumper in traffic and her car left a mark, that's noticible now that the rest of the bumper is darker... so things like that should be easy to fix as well.

I've used FB over and over on my door trims until I got that consistent streak-free look. If you just use the built-in applicator you will end up using a lot more than needed in an attempt to cover up the subtle streaks. Suggest you get a mini sponge roller brush to even out the FB. Use the built-in applicator first to coat the surface then immediately even it out with the sponge roller brush. It helps to mask off the area so the roller brush won't hit the paint.

Forgot to add ... it is really impt to make sure you clean the surface with wax/silicone remover esp if you had previously used Armor-all type on the trim. FB won't stick well on poorly prepped surface.
