SC-901 question -CD6 input suddenly stopped working

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Hoping for some advice here, although I assume there will not be an easy fix. I have the SC-901 headunit in my 98 V70. Been working fine for years. I use a Grom adapter which connects my iPhone through the CD6 input on the headunit. Yesterday when I was driving home I pushed the CD6 button and nothing happened. The CD3 still works, as does the AM/FM.

My question is how can I troubleshoot this? I don't have an extra headunit to try, to see if it's the Grom unit. But I also don't have a 6 CD changer so I can't check to see if the issue is within the headunit. The 3 cd cassette works fine. Any thoughts on next steps? I love this car but it's pretty squeaky and not having iPhone integration would really suck...

Thanks!

Step One - Sure the Grom has power?

Step Two - Are you REALLY sure the Grom has power?

Step Three  - Reseat the CD6 connector.

Step Four - Report back - That all I've got for now...

Fired her up today and the CD6 input worked fine. Maybe she just needed me to play some better music. So for now, unfortunately I have nothing to share in terms of lessons learned or troubleshooting suggestions...
