1997 850R Sedan with 9 Factory Volans - Extra Clean, White with Black Int, ($3700 OBO)

Recommended Posts

(borrowed this outstanding format from yangotang)

Selling my cherished 97 850R sedan, along with 4 extra factory Volans (for a total of 9 Volans including the full sized spare).  I’ve been driving Volvos since 1991, and this has been the crown jewel of my collection, but I need to make room for two cars I just inherited.

Garage kept Texas car, very clean interior and exterior.  The car has been in my family since 1999, and I’ve owned it since 2004. I’ve kept it completely stock except for a dealer option aluminum strut tower brace and the IPD ECU/exhaust kit (installed in 2004, will include the original exhaust brackets).

Price:
$3700 OBO

Location:
Dallas, TX

Mileage:
154k actual miles

Title:
Clean

Recent work:
2018:  PCV Breather Box and Hoses, passenger axle (with axle shaft seal)
2019:  Front struts and mounts, battery, heater core, headliner, Falken G5 Tires

Here's what's wrong with it:
Wheels:  4 new Falken G5 Tires installed a couple of months ago.  The car has the 5 factory Volans, with an additional 4 Volans (bought off another 850R owner who was downsizing to 16 inch turbo wheels in 2004).  All are factory German wheels, not reproductions. It appears a couple have been refurbished, but assume several will need attention to look perfect and/or balance (the unmounted wheel has a rim dent and others have some peeling finish).

Exterior:  The car has never needed any body work, but the rear spoiler has some cracked clear coat, and there are some subtle indentations on the rear bumper where the car was bumped.

Interior:  Interior sunroof trim cracked during headliner replacement, normal dash rattles, corner of passenger airbag cover is lifting slightly.  The leather steering wheels has some scuffs on the underside, but the seats are in really good shape for an 850R.  The alcantara is pilling slightly on the driver seat and a few small spots of color have worn off the bolsters and center piping in the usual spots, but all the power adjustments work perfectly.

Drive train:  Runs strong, just completed an 8hr road trip and it was getting normal mileage.  There appears to be a very small exhaust leak at the exhaust manifold gasket (new gasket is included), and it lost about 1 cup of water on the trip, so the head gasket may have started leaking.  It’s not throwing any codes, and the oil looks clean.
