P0505 - Idle Control System Malfunction
Try cleaning out your idle air control valve and throttle body. It would also be a good idea to make sure you have a solid electrical connection on the idle air control valve.

It might be a bit difficult to do with a rag and clear on the IAC. I would suggest spraying a degreaser down in there being careful of the electrical connection and dry it out as best as you can, letting it air dry the rest of the way. It's possible that it could be some freak electrical jump in the system causing the code, but cleaning the IAC out certainly won't hurt anything.

I cleaned it out let it dry over night went for a drive and about 15 minutes later the code came up again IDLE air CONTROL VALVE. Is this something that over time wears out or is there something else I can try to make sure that it is the problem thanks. It idles very smooth around 1000/900 rpm better after I cleaned it ,Doug

Burn the car to the ground. My theory is that this is where it starts. Once you fix this problem, the car begins an endless cycle of turning on the Check Engine light days after you repair the last problem...
