hey guys, so far on my car i put in the 17 psi speed tuning chip, i have a custom fabricated 3 inch downpipe and a 3 inch full exhaust with 3 inch cat and a dynomax muffler.

i turned the wastegate acutator (not sure if thats what it is) around 6 times, to spool up quickly. I tried to install a boost guage my friend (brickster151) and i t'ed the line for the boost guage, well the guage isnt running so that might mean the vacuum i bought is pinched somewhere or a boost leak. i blew into the boost guage and it works.

right now when i go on full throttle i feel the turbo kick in, then i lose acceleration for a slight amount then it goes back the normal acceleration i am feeling. right now i am getting about 15-17 mpg, and this is not accelerating all the time, here and there i woudl get it on it, but not a lot

is this normal, gas is 2.60 over here and getting 15 to the gallon, NOT GOOD,

help guys!

thanks

first off.. set your waste gate back to stock.. especially if you can't monitor boost conditions.. its like the blind leading the blind here.

DITTO! Why do people insist on doing this? I wish Volvo had just welded the arm onto actuator

fix your boost gauge setup...i found the easiest way to set it up is to T off the stock line to the dash above the driver's side foot area. I like nylon tubing instead of rubber or silicone vacuum hose too.

if you are losing acceleration, check all your vacuum hoses, and also your turbo hoses...if you have OEM hoses still, most likely you have burst/broken one or more of the turbo hoses and it will need replacing. Even if they are not broken, they are probably worn, and you will benefit from getting new silicone hoses...see the stage 0 list at the top of the performance modifications section

Check the inlet tube behind the MAF and into the turbo. It's tough to see all the way but do it. Make sure the PCV? hasn't blown out of its mount on this tube. It sounds a bit like what mine did when this happened. It's very likely, also, that you blew a "boosted" side hose.

What the hell, I didnt know you cranked it up that high???? you only need to turn it maybe 3 turns, but yes let the ecu do the boost control. if the ecu is tuned for 17psi then that is all you are going to get

Get a boost gauge...you probably don't have the adjustment right...the proper way to do that is pump up the actuator and adjust the arm to slip over....I forget the amount of pressure...I know IPD has it on their site ..but I bet it's here if you search

pull the throttle body hose and squeeze it to check for cracks. sounds like there is a gap somewhere only opening under high boost.

sounds kind of like my car. i've got a boost gauge installed though.

when i floor it on the freeway, i'll gain boost until about 7psi, then it drops back down to 5psi and holds steady. i need to replace my turbo/IC hoses.

oh, and Chris, connect your boost gauge to the stock line under your dash. it's very easy to do.

kinda sounds like my problem too sometimes, I too recently got the 17PSI version and when I floor it to about 8-10PSI or over, its fine until the car stops accellerating for a split second and then resumes... only happens over 8PSI or so... someone I know had this problem with his Upsolute chip and a MBC solved it.

this is kind of off topic, but how much boost do our cars get when in first gear? 7PSI?
