Recently in the last week or so, whenever i first start up the car i get this petrol smell from the exhaust. It goes away after i drive a few metres, it only happens like i said when i first start the car in the morning. If i drive it to say the shopping centre for a few hours, come back to the car...drive off again...it doesn't smell when i start the car up. Anyone know why it would have a petrol or oil smell?

Sounds pretty normal to me... Cars usually smell because the engine isn't hot yet and isn't operating at its max efficiency during the minutes after start-up.

could be that or you might have a leaky injector...check the o-rings on the injectors.

they inject more fuel into the cylinders than they need. so, not all of the fuel burns and you get some in your exaust.
