I changed my rear O2 sensor last night, to remedy my P0422 code. Success. But then, a little while ago, the check engine light returned. P0300, P0301, P0304 and P0305. Cylinder misfires. Before I could clear the codes however, they cleared themselves. So I'm not sure if I should even worry about that...

While changing the O2 sensor, I noticed that the bottom of my oil pan was covered with oil, which seemed to be coming from the front of the engine. When I say front, I mean the side closest to the car. Any ideas on this?

Side closest to car=passenger side, or closest to front of car? In first case, the problem is probably front engine seal (behind crank pulley) or one of the cam seals above. If second case, check tranny lines at radiator and check that dipstick tube is firmly in place as it enters the engine. Is car a turbo?

If it's a turbo (your sigy doesn't say) I would guess it's the return line seal.

Sorry, I meant the front of the car, which would be the side of the engine. I'd guess the leak is coming from somewhere under the intake manifold.

When I bought the car and had it inspected, they said the replace the return line gaskets, and I have the parts to do it, but I inspected the return line and surrounding area myself, and it's bone dry.

So yeah, the bottom of the oil pan is covered with oil, that seems to be coming from the front of the car.

I had the transmission fluid flushed at a regular (nonvolvo) type shop. Is it possible that they didn't replace the necessary seals or clips when putting the lines back on, and that this is ATF?

well, black is oil. red would be ATF.

you need to degrease the pan and engine. then run it and get under there and see if you can spot the source.
