Highest Mileage Contest (if you beat it post it)

Recommended Posts

I was reading that the world record for the highest mileage car is held by Volvo P1800 at 3.2 million miles. So that got me thinking, who here on VS has the highest mileage? Just for fun, I'll start. If Volvos really do last forever then why not show the world?

1998 Volvo C70 coupe

Believe the R cluster in the S70 shows 180k, while real mileage is likely closer to 300 as I bought it 10 years ago with 198k. lol.

I read that the world record holder for 3.2 million miles rebuilt his engine twice even when the mechanic said it wasn't needed. So the rules stay the same rebuilt or not. At least according to the world record.

met him years and years ago at a large east coast meet. Seemed nice enough, there are mixed reviews of him.

You would think having a WR holding car would inflate your ego a lot. If he was at all down to earth about it then that takes determination. That sounds like a ton of fun. I'm keeping my eye out for north west coast shows. Even if my C70 isn't show quality it would be fun to just be there and learn and see what I can see.

Yeah, you never said it had to be the original motor.  :)  The car has that mileage, the engine does not.

I have blown up 3 engines, but I have had 5 in the car.  Well, technically 4 since I am running the original block right now.  It is a combination of the last 2 engine failures.

I am sure there are several cars on here that can beat my mileage and on the original engine as well.

iPd is the biggest in the PNW, but all shows were cancelled this year.  Davis is bigger, but it is a bit of a hike.

We have Zappo In the lead with 325,000. Who has higher mileage?

Not me, I've got 290k on the 98, but I will note it is still the factory motor. It was 200k when I got it in 2013.

For better or worse, the mileage here gets spread out among a few cars ...
