RobT5M 1,040
Did you have the ECU programed to accept the manual?
andyb5 3,196
What did you do to convert to manual? Any modifications to the wiring harness or modules on CANBUS system?
bmdubya1198 59
Have you been able to drive it since swapping, or this problem started as soon as you wrapped up the swap? It sounds like you're missing something on the wiring side.
rbodor3 17
I've done the manual swap on my 01 S60 with m56. I had to get a retune to accept the manual. I also had to: Short green/red and green wires on Gear Position Sensor together Remove TCU, connect green & white wires to matching-color counterparts Yellow, Blue, Yellow/black wires on Gear Position Sensor grounded (this one took a long time to figure out - no-start condition) Relay for starter re-wired to ground to chassis (rather than look for Central Engine Module ground signal) (this also took a while to figure out - no-start condition) Nothing I did matched the symptoms you have. I suspect it's your ECU needs to be reprogrammed.
