Rich,

I've had some noise lately and it turns out my downpipe is hitting my front sway bar. This is odd because it has been on there for a year. My mechanic and I looked and decided to replace the rear hydraulic mount to try and raise the engine. Didn't help much. I don't know where the engine normally sits, but with the car on the lift the tranny is sitting very hard on the rubber bumper on the driver side at the wheel well.

Is this normal?

No thats not normal. Normally it has just a bit of space, not touching. Something is allowing the tilt to the drivers side of the car.

If the mount under the crank pulley goes usually the engine drops to the subframe, passenger side. The hydraulic mounts front and back hold the engine up. See if the brackets that hold the hydraulic mounts to the car are cracked or something.

It is like a 3 point mount. front and back hydraulic and the one under the crank. The front and back hydraulic are far enough to the drivers side that the engine wants to drop to the sub frame on the passenger side if that mount goes.
